About Me

About me:

This website represents a new chapter in my life. As a former teacher and a librarian, I wish to talk to you about what I read or see.

My name is Judy and I am a not-so-serious blogger. I love to discuss great books and ideas. Also, look for me on judysjustthinking.com

Me in a nutshell:

  1. The first dystopian fiction book I ever read was ANTHEM by Ann Rand (It was required by my 8th grade English teacher as was GREAT EXPECTATIONS by Charles Dickens, LES MISERABLES by Victor Hugo, and LOST HORIZONS by James Hilton).
  2. I loved my 8th grade English teacher — my friends did not.
  3. My 8th grade friends were cool — I was not. (sigh)
  4. I took a science fiction class in high school and was the only girl in the class. I loved it! (The books, not the boys although the boys were cool too.)
  5. Although I now have a Masters degree in library science and education, I didn’t start college until I had 3 kids and was 29.
  6. I know that being a 29 year old college-freshmen with 3 children has a maturity advantage and a time restraint disadvantage.
  7. While in college I took some great literature classes, I especially loved the class I took  on the Arthurian Legends. (I am still not cool)
  8. I am a penny pincher and always look for a good deal.
  9. I have lived in Tennessee all of my life and have the accent to prove it although I managed to get rid of my West Tennessee accent when I moved to Middle Tennessee. (Tennessee is a very wide state)
  10. I work out almost every day. Not necessarily for the exercise but because I can read uninterrupted while on the treadmill or elliptical.

Now I want to connect with you. Please submit your email to receive notifications of my newest post/review.
